Catherine Baillie Abidi, PhD

Assistant Professor, Department of Child and Youth Studies, Mount Saint Vincent University

Dr. Catherine Baillie Abidi is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Child and Youth Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University and has extensive experience practicing, researching, and teaching in the areas of peace and conflict, children affected by armed conflict, security sector reform, and international humanitarian law. Dr. Baillie Abidi was previously the Director of Research & Learning at the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace and Security and continues to chair the Institute's international research network focused on Children, Peace and Security. Dr. Baillie Abidi oversees multiple research projects exploring the interconnections between peacekeeping, gender, child protection and moral injury, with the primary focus of protecting children affected by conflict and the security sector actors who engage with them. Dr. Baillie Abidi is also an Adjunct Professor in the Departments of International Development Studies at both Dalhousie and Saint Mary's University.
